Privacy Policy

This page explains what information MSV collects when you register for the plugin, why, and what happens to it. It's written in plain language on purpose — if anything here is unclear, see the Contact section below.

What we collect

When you fill out the registration form, we collect:

Name and email address
Country
Whether you're a student or a working professional, and depending on which:
- Professionals: your company/office name
- Students: your university name and an uploaded image/scan of your student ID
Whether you opted in to receive update emails (this is optional and unticked by default)

We also use Google reCAPTCHA on the form to confirm you're not a bot, which involves Google collecting some technical data (like your IP address and browser information) as part of that check — see Google's Privacy Policy for what that covers.

Why we collect it

Name and email: to send you the installer, help with support requests, and (if you opted in) send occasional update emails.
Student ID: student registrations get a reduced or free license; the ID upload lets us manually confirm you're actually a student before issuing one. It is not used for anything else.
Company/university and country: helps us understand who's using MSV and prioritize what to build next. We don't use it to individually profile you.

How your data actually gets to us: the registration form is submitted through FormSubmit, a third-party form-relay service, which forwards your submission (including the student ID file, if provided) as an email to our own inbox. We don't currently run a separate database or marketing platform — your submission lives in that inbox, and in your update-email preference if you opted in.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone beyond:

FormSubmit — to relay your form submission to us, as described above.
Google reCAPTCHA — to verify you're human, as described above.

How long we keep it

We keep registration data as long as reasonably needed to support your use of the plugin (e.g. license or activation questions) or, if you opted in, until you unsubscribe from update emails. See "Your choices" below for how to have it deleted sooner.

Your choices

The "receive update emails" checkbox is optional and off by default — leaving it unticked means we won't email you beyond what's needed to deliver the plugin itself.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing info@msvplugin.com.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we handle it changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
